Listen Up!

First let me introduce myself to all of our new members. I'm Dick Morey, Commander of Waupaca Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1037.

To all members please come and be an active part of this great veterans service organization.

We haven't had a Newsletter for a while and we really need to get the information out to our members. I mentioned this at our Veterans Day chili feed and our Quartermaster Bill Flemal volunteered his wife Kathy to help us a BIG THANK YOU!. For those of you with internet access check out our website at www.waupacavfw.org. We will try to keep you informed of the activities of the post and I hope that if you can help out in any way please join us. Up Coming Events:
Feb. 4 th we will host a party for the members at the King Veterans Home starting at 1:00PM at the Marden Center . Feb. 25 th the Ladies Auxiliary will hold a 60th Anniversary Dinner at the Post starting at 12:00 noon . $7.50 per person, get reservations in to Teresa Mangert 258-7004. Please come and bring a guest. Our BINGO will stat again the 3rd Thursday of March at 7:00 PM come out and help or play. The money from this goes to our Scholarship Fund.

For those of you that have been members for a while know that The VFW Department of Wisconsin holds a raffle each year, other years they mailed out tickets to each member for them to buy or sell. This year they are having a limited raffle with only 40,000 tickets printed they are $10.00 each but the odds of winning are better than most raffles. The money from this raffle goes to our Veterans Service Office I will try in future newsletters to explain the importance of this Office to all VFW members and their families. Both myself and the Quartermaster have tickets that you can buy or better yet pickup and sell. The Post gets to keep 20% of each ticket sold.
