Support Passage of Senate Amendment -S.Amdt. 72 to H.R. 933
Background: When budget sequestration took effect earlier this month, each military branch quickly suspended enrollment in thier Tuition Assistance (TA) programs. Now, countless service members are wondering what to do next. The VFW views Tuition Assistance as a critical military professional development tool that also enhances quality of life. Cutting the program forces services memebrs to reach into thier own pockets, tap into their earned veterans' benefits, or seek civilian financial aid in order to satisfy personal and professional development that the military demands for advancement.
Action Needed: Senators James Inhofe and Kay Hagen have introduced an amendment (S.Amdt. 72) to the Continuing Resolution (H.R. 933) to fund the military that would reinstate the Tuition Assistance program. The amendment is scheduled for consideration on the Seante floor as early as today!
Contact your Senators today and urge them to support S.Amdt. 72 to reinstate military Tuition Assistance.
